For the seventh straight year, Altice USA employees in San Angelo, Texas, participated in the Kids Eat Free program, part of Baylor University's Texas Hunger Initiative dedicated to implementing strategies to end hunger in Texas. As part of the program, Altice USA joined hundreds of other volunteers from churches and organizations to feed approximately 1,000 children during the summer. Every Wednesday in July and August, five to six Altice USA employees give up their lunch break in order to visit Heartland Baptist Church and serve free, healthy meals to children. In addition, this year an Altice representative visited each of the twelve serving sites to demonstrate the sugar content in sodas, pass out branded water bottles, and encourage kids to make healthy decisions and "Think Before You Drink."

"Almost two-thirds of the children in the San Angelo school system are on free or reduced lunches during the school year, so the summer program is sometimes the only meal kids get," said Altice USA Sales and Community Manager Lynsey Flage. "We chose to serve at Heartland Baptist Church this year because it is a new site and we knew they could use the extra set of hands. Our employees prep the food, man the serving line, and do all the cleaning up afterwards. We know we are making a real difference in our community and enjoy seeing the kids week after week."

To cap off the end of the summer meal program, Altice USA will once again purchase backpacks for every child served at Calvary Baptist Church, where they have served in years’ past and is in one of the most economically disadvantaged areas of town. Church members will fill over 100 backpacks with school supplies for distribution day on Friday, August 11.
