Optimum Community Encourages Student Reporters at NY Knicks Youth Basketball Clinic

Enhancing their skills on the basketball court was just one of the things children from the Madison Square Boys & Girls Club learned at a recent clinic sponsored by Optimum Community and the New York Knicks. The clinic not only brought out the best offensive and defensive moves the kids possess, but it also taught them how to be an on-camera reporter, interviewing Knicks Alum John Wallace.

At the clinics, the kids engage in healthy lifestyle group discussions led by Knicks staff before flexing their muscles with basketball themed activities and games. The emphasis at these clinic events is on hard work, good sportsmanship, self-esteem, and proper nutrition.

There is also a focus on empowering children to be the best they can be while dealing with adversity, as well as the importance of education and staying in school as it pertains to their own personal growth and development.
