Frederick Douglass Academy Hosts Meet the Leaders at School Taping

Optimum Community brought a Meet the Leaders at School taping to Frederick Douglass Academy IV with special guest Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams. The students posed questions to the Borough President on a variety of topics, including college readiness, race relations with the NYPD and gentrification in their local communities. The entire student body and faculty members attended the taping.

“Congratulations to all of the students who participated in today’s event,” said Brooklyn Borough President Adams. “Programs such as this are invaluable as they make public service come alive for young people. Getting students interested and enthused about how local government works will definitely provide us with better citizens in the future, leaders who are involved in their communities and local government.
