Academy of Mount Saint Ursula Recognized for Participation in Charity Champions

Optimum Community visited the Academy of Mount Saint Ursula to recognize students for their participation in this year’s Charity Champions program. A representative from LifeWay Network, the charity the students are raising money for, was present to accept the $1,000 donation. LifeWay Network provides safe housing for women survivors of human trafficking in the New York metro area. The organization’s supportive environment helps women recover from their trauma and regain their sense of self-worth. The students also received $500 seed money to further their charitable efforts as they continue to raise money for this cause throughout the rest of the school year.
