Urban Game Jam

Urban Game Jam at IS 392

In partnership with TV One, Cablevision provided an exciting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) opportunity to IS 392 in Brooklyn called Urban Game Jam. This four hour workshop offered 27 middle school students an introduction to creating video games. The workshop was led by Joseph Saulter, CEO, Entertainment Arts Research Inc., the first African American controlled 3D Video Game Development and Publishing Company traded on the public market. Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke attended the event and spoke to the importance of science and math in our schools.

“I want to thank Cablevision and TV One for providing this terrific opportunity for students to learn about developing technology by creating video games today at MS 392,” said Congresswoman Clarke. “This workshop allows young men and young women to develop their ideas into games, an important introduction to the potential of computer science. I believe this event provides a foundation for students to pursue interests that could eventually become careers.”
