Brooklyn Public Library hosts Read to Achieve Knicks Summer Reading Program

Optimum Community brought the Knicks Read to Achieve 2014 Summer Reading Program to the Brooklyn Public Library’s Coney Island Branch with former NBA Superstar John Starks. Representatives from NY State Senator Diane Savino’s office and NYC Councilman Mark Treyger’s office attended the event on behalf of the Senator and the Councilman. Distinguished guests joined the children in participating in a read aloud from Barbara E. Barber’s fun and inspiring book, Allie’s Basketball Dream. Following the reading, the children took part in an interactive quiz about the book and participated in raffles and autograph signings.
