Charity Champions

Metuchen High School is New Jersey's Grand Prize Charity Champions Winner for 2015-2016 School Year

Optimum Community held an assembly at Metuchen High School to honor the 5-time Grand Prize winners as this year’s Grand Prize Charity Champions. Students, faculty and administration gathered for a celebration of their hard work, at which the students and program advisor Evan Robbins were presented with a $5,000 donation to their chosen charity, Breaking the Chain Through Education.

Founded by Mr. Robbins, Breaking the Chain Through Education is a non-profit organization dedicated to eradicating child slavery in Ghana with the goal of continuing to rescue children that have been trafficked and to restore them to a life of dignity and education. In addition, in order to reduce the need for child labor, schools are built for children in remote and impoverished areas.
