Maywood Avenue Student Awarded Prize for Weather Channel Poster Contest

Assemblyman Tim Eustace joined Optimum Community in recognizing Maywood Avenue School’s eighth-grade student Anthony Cavo as a runner-up in the Weather in 2040 poster contest sponsored by Optimum and The Weather Channel. The contest encouraged students to create a poster that expressed their views on changing weather patterns and to predict how meteorologists would determine a daily forecast in the year 2040. Assemblyman Eustace congratulated Anthony on his imaginative and informative poster. He was then presented with his prize, an American Red Cross emergency crank radio.

“I would like to congratulate Anthony on a job well done,” said Assemblyman Eustace. “This is an interesting and important topic to address as changing weather patterns clearly affect all of us. I applaud Optimum Community and The Weather Channel for creating a contest that provides young people in our area with an opportunity to tackle this subject in such a creative way.”
