Long Island Lutheran High School Students Receive Charity Champions Donation For LuHi Meal Packing Program

Optimum Community hosted a Charity Champions check presentation at Long Island Lutheran High School, whose students are raising money for the LuHi Meal Packing program. The assembly was attended by Assemblyman Michael Montesano after which students held their “Simply Soup” fundraiser, and proceeds will go to the Meal Packing program.

The LuHi Meal Packing program prepares, packs and delivers meals to those in need. The packed meals are sent to Long Island food pantries as well as international locations in Nicaragua and Haiti. Success in previous years has provided enough food to feed 500 children every day for a year.
