Central Islip High School Students Participate in Charity Champions to Raise Funds for the Central Islip Civil Council
Students at Central Islip High School hosted an exciting “Dance-a-thon” fundraiser, raising money for the school’s selected charity, the Central Islip Civil Council. At the start of the event, representatives from Optimum Community presented members of the Civic Council with a $1,000 donation on behalf of the students who are participating in Charity Champions, which rewards the charitable efforts of high school students.
The Central Islip Civic Council is a non-profit, community based agency dedicated to improving the quality of life for all residents of Central Islip for the past 46 years. They have an emergency food pantry for Central Islip residents and sponsor free recreational activities, and cultural and holiday events. The Council offers a variety of programs such as foreclosure prevention, New Horizons affordable housing, and economic and community development.
