Glen Cove Students Hold Holiday Feast to Benefit Local Charity
Students at Glen Cove High School were recognized for participating in Optimum Community’s Charity Champions program during their Annual Holiday Feast to benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island. Students chose to raise money for this local organization that provides comfort and shelter to families experiencing the pain of having a sick child in local hospital facilities. Bill Rigley, a Ronald McDonald House volunteer, attended the event on behalf of the organization and was presented with a $1000 donation. The school was also presented with a $500 check to further their fundraising efforts. Mayor Reginald Spinello was in attendance and thanked the students for their dedication and for helping those in need. After the check presentations, the Holiday Feast began, which was made up of food donations from local restaurants along with contributions from community members to help raise money for the Ronald McDonald House.
