Bridgeport Students Participate in Nat Geo Wild Event with Boone Smith
US Senator Chris Murphy joined Optimum Community and Nat Geo Wild for an interactive program at Park City Magnet School featuring the Nat Geo WILD big cat capture specialist and TV personality Boone Smith. Senator Murphy addressed the students and introduced a short video about Boone Smith. Following the video, the popular big cat wrangler spoke to the third- through eighth-graders about his experiences capturing and collaring big cats and other wildlife. The students were then introduced to various animals and had the chance to participate in a Q&A with Smith.
“The students today asked some terrific questions and I believe everyone learned a lot about nature and various types of wildlife,” said Senator Murphy. “Boone Smith, who is recognized internationally for his skill and expertise, is clearly someone who loves what he does and is fascinating to listen to. He has traveled the world to capture big cats from cougars in Idaho to snow leopards in Afghanistan. How exciting is that! I thank Optimum Community and Nat Geo WILD for making this innovative program available to the students in Bridgeport.”
