Sonia Livingstone, professor of social psychology at the London School of Economics and Political Science, recently spent one year studying the digital lives of a class of 13-year-olds in the United Kingdom. She describes her findings in a recent article, and talks about trends she saw such as students often doing their homework while checking Facebook.
