Altice USA, in partnership with HISTORY, brought a “Take a Vet to School Day” event to St. Joseph School in Ronkonkoma, NY. Master at Arms Chief Tony Cuin and Master at Arms 1st Class Richard Brooks visited with both the elementary and the middle school students to talk to them about their experiences in the military and what it means to them to serve our country. Students presented the vets with cards thanking them for their service, and had the opportunity to ask questions such as “What was the hardest part about serving?” “What did you eat when you were deployed?” and “Did you ever get scared?” The vets also spoke to the students about their education and military careers and gave advice to kids who are interested in joining the military.
